The other day we read about George Stephenson, the ‘father of Railways’ in our English class. He gave us a great lesson about how life is all about taking chances, moving forward no matter what and making it worthwhile. George Stephensn was a man who should have been lucky, the man who should be highly praised for the work he has done. He taught us several other things like to keep doing the hard work and the good work even though it’s not for ourselves.

Stephenson was a highly influential railway engineer and inventor of the ‘Rocket’, one of the most famous early railway locomotives. He was poor so he could not afford education and a proper life. He had a lack of education during his childhood. But, late when he was nearly 18 he started to go to school. It seemed like Stephenson was really focused on studies. Even though he had not gone to school in childhood, he still went on, not focusing on others teasing, fighting, shouting but on his studies. He was not afraid that someone would tease him about his life since he knew it and wanted to make a better change. He was a very wise person so he knew very well what to do. Because of the contribution he made, our lives have changed.

He taught us to focus on the thing we want to achieve, never give up, make a better change in your life, never stop because of others, make a bright future and let others walk in your shoes before complaining about you. His remarkable contribution to this world will always be valued forever.
