They say, ‘Do one thing every day that scares you’. There are many events held in our school. We get to participate in each one of them. We get new opportunities daily. Among all of the events I have participated in, the Poetry competition was one of my favorites.

We went through a month of selection for a poetry competition. We started preparing for a poem competition very long ago. And had to go to several rounds to reach the final. I've never been to the final for poetry before. I always got stuck at the Semifinal. But this time fortunately I went to the finals of the Nepali language. I didn't have the courage at first and was hesitating if I could make it or not. After many days of hesitating, struggling I was finally ready for Poem Competition. My parents were glad I went to the finals. I was scared inside what if I mess up in between and keep practising. On the day of Finals, we all arrived in the high block. I was hesitating. And we were with our mentor the whole day. We practiced the whole day. It was 5 and the competition started. First, it was the turn of the English language so I had time to make my fear go away. In the draw, I got No.1 which means I was the first to go from the Nepali language. I was still hesitating and didn't dare to face the audience. But still, I managed. I felt like time went too fast. The more my turn was coming near to me, the more I was full of fears. The time I was on stage I had confidence. I started with my poem and slowly the fear inside me vanished. I finished it with no mistakes.

I was finally happy that I completed it. After some time the winners were announced. I was not one of the winners but being up to the finals was a big achievement for me. With morals, we may have many fears, but there is a way to make that fear go away.
