Last year was a very hectic year for all of us due to the Covid-19 situation. Like the rest of the world, we spent half of the year inside our home and started high-school life virtually. We barely got to spend any time at the school and for the better part of the year, exams and other important activities were conducted virtually. Our classes were held physically for only about 3 or 4 months and as the COVID scenario changed, classes had to run virtually again. Due to this our school was not able to conduct many of the events that used to be hosted yearly.
Finally, everything was coming back to normal. So, we started our classes physically almost a month ago. Within a month we had various activities like fest, hiking and educational trip. But among these DSS fest was the best one. It was our first fest so it was even more exciting. The week before the fest was also really fun. We decided to dance on that day so we practiced and stayed after school. Along with the dance practice we did several other fun things which made our bonds even more stronger. In the middle of our practice we had almost lost hope and planned to cancel our performance but after the motivation from our teachers we did it. Finally after a week of dance practice we successfully performed our dance and enjoyed every bit of it. We danced wearing gurung dresses which were the highlight of our dance. There were MoMo and Pani Puri stalls and the best part was, the food was free. There were several games as well. Thinking I had great luck, I participated in Bingo. It was going really well in the beginning and I was confident enough that I would win at least one game. Me and my friends were already deciding to divide the cash prize among us but unfortunately none of us won. Nirmal sir won Rs.5000 so we were kind of jealous but happy as well. This was our last fest so we were sad. We clicked a lot of pictures. There were many other performances other than our dance. Overall, it was a really fun day. As, we nearly have 3-4 months to finish grade 12. So, these memories will forever be cherished.
This day will always be remembered as we took the full advantage of this fest and enjoyed as much as we could. Along with the enjoyment, the relationship between me and my friends grew to be even more stronger. We realized each other's true potential. At the fest many students exempted their extraordinary talents making the parents and the teachers go "WOW ''! Overall, it was a great experience and this day will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
