Komi Can't Communicate is a Japanese anime series taken from a manga series  written and illustrated by Tomohito Oda. It has been serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday since May 2016, with its chapters collected in twenty-three tankobon volumes as of October 2021.At the high school full of unique characters, Tadano helps his shy and unsociable classmate komi reach her goal of making friends with 100 people.
Hitohito Tadano is a boy who heads into his first day of high school with a clear plan to avoid trouble and do his best to blend in with others. Unfortunately, he has bad luck and fails right away as he takes the seat beside the school's Madonna Shouko Komi without knowing. His classmates now recognize him as someone to remove for a chance to sit next to the most beautiful girl in school.
Komi is universally adored and immensely popular despite her mysterious personality. However, without the knowledge of everyone, she has crippling anxiety and a communication disorder which prevents her from socializing with her classmates.
When left alone in the classroom, a chain of events forces Komi to interact with Hitohito through writing on the blackboard, as a one-way conversation. Being the first person to realize she cannot communicate properly, Hitohito picks up the chalk and begins to write as well. He eventually discovers that Komi's goal is to make one hundred friends during her time in high school while they were communicating through writing. At this end, he decides to lend her a helping hand, thus also becoming her first-ever friend.

Overall it is a very fun anime with the reaction to how komi tries to communicate with people and Hitohito trying to help komi. Its genre is Comedy, Slice of Life. Its rating is 8.26 in myanimelist.net. It is still airing. I recommend this anime to watch if you like highschool drama where the popular girl struggles to communicate with people.
