Universe means everything that exists in space. When we look at the sky, we
can see different heavenly objects like the sun, moon, stars etc. The bodies we see
by our naked eye is the small part of the universe. There are so many stars in the
universe than grains of sand on all beaches of the earth. The earth is like a tiny
particle for the universe.
The universe consists of the milky way, galaxies, stars, planets, moons and comets. All these heavenly bodies attract each other by gravitational force. The universe is
also called the cosmos. Cosmology is the branch of science that studies space. Astronomy is another name for the study of the universe. Scientists use telescopes
and satellites to collect information about the universe. With the help of rockets,
people have reached the moon. Some of the spacecraft have been landed on
Mars. Scientists believe that the universe began suddenly by an event called the big bang 10 or 15 billion years ago. Universe has no centre and scientists also believe that the universe is expanding. They have discovered many facts about the universe but have to do so many researches about the universe.
