Raksha Bandhan is a well known festival of Nepal. It is also called the rakhi.The festival reflects the bond of affection, love, care of the relation between brothers and sisters. Raksha means protection and bandhan means bond. It is celebrated on the day of purnima in the month of Shrawan. On this day, the sister ties a special thread on her brother’s wrist. Sisters pray to god for the safety, good health and health of her brothers and in return brothers take a lifelong vow to protect their sister. The brothers also give her gifts and money. Every girl who has a brother cherishes this day.
