What can you say,
When your every thought is belittled and berated?
What can you do,
When every action is despised and hated?
What can you see,
When unbreakable bars separate your freedom?
What can you hear,
Above the screams and shouts of the innocent and the exploited?
What can you think,
When your thoughts itself start turning on you?
What can you befriend,
When objects are all there is to a grey hue?
What can you feel,
Above the cold and cruel beating of your own heart?
What is it you draw,
Laughing howling giants to be considered art?
What is it you seek,
In this lawless world where oppression has turned all things bleak?
