It was the walk
Long and tiring
Breathless to talk
Memories re-wiring
Those songs and laugh
Those hands to hold
Too long of a walk
Despite what we were told
Falls and pain
Lame jokes and care
Reached the top
In the clouds’ layer
Back ride it was
A memorable day
Shoulders to cry
Thank you all I say.
