We see plants every day in our life. We usually see it as green or flowers in many beautiful colors. Although we have seen plants every day have you ever wondered about knowing more about them?
Plants have two systems, namely root system, and shoot system. The root system has only roots or in some cases for instance vegetables like carrots and potatoes grow in the roots.  There are mainly two types of root: Fibrous root and taproot. In Fibrous root, there is no main root but it has several roots growing like a bush. But in the taproot, there is the main root from which other roots are grown.
In the shoot system, there are stems, leaves, fruits, flowers, and buds. Stems grow from the soil. From the stem, the food and water are transported to other parts of the plant. There are two parts inside the stems for transporting food and water, Xylem and Phloem. It also supports branches, leaves, buds, fruits, and flowers. A leaf is the part of the plant which grows on the branches of a plant. A leaf is generally green in color. Leaves are also known as the kitchen of the plants. As, through photosynthesis, a leaf makes food for the plants. Leaves have many microscopic pores for breathing oxygen and CO2. A bud is a newly formed flower. It can produce either fruit or formed flowers. A flower is a part of a plant that helps in pollination and fertilization. The next stage is a fruit or it will remain the same.
On the basis of habitat, there are two types of plants. Terrestrial plants and Aquatic plants. Aquatic plants are those types of plants that grow in water. Terrestrial plants are those types of plants that grow on land. From the classification of plants on the basis of their lifespan, there are three types of plants. Annual plants, Biennial plants, and Perennial plants. Annual plants are those types of plants that grow for some months or only 1 year. Biennial plants are those types of plants that grow for 2 years. Perennial plants are those types of plants that have grown for more than two years or many years.
Now, finally, let’s learn some very interesting facts about plants. Did you know that an average size tree can provide enough wood to make 170,100 pencils! 85 percent of plant life is found in the ocean! The Earth has more than 80,000 species of edible plants! 90 percent of the food humans eat comes from just 30 plants!
