Pasang Lhamu Sherpa was the first Nepalese woman to climb Mount Everest. She was born in 2017 B.S in  Solukhumbu District. Her father’s name is Phurba Kitar Sherpa and her mother’s name is Angdaki Sherpa. Pasang Lhamu Sherpa was a brave girl. Her father was also a mountaineer.  She wanted to be a mountaineer, too.
She had climbed so many mountains, Mont Blanc, Cho Oyu, Mount Yalapic, Pisang Himal, and others. She had attempted to climb Mount Everest three times but could not succeed. Finally, in 1993, on 22nd April,  Pasang Lhamu Sherpa reached the top of Mount Everest. Unfortunately, she lost her life due to the bad weather.
Pasang Lhamu Sherpa was honoured by the country and the mountaineers all around the world. She was the first Nepalese woman to receive the “Nepal Tara Award”.
