OUR NATIONAL EMBLEMS

The national emblem is a symbol of representation of a country that is unique in its design and structure. Some of the national emblems of our country Nepal are listed below:
National Flag: The national flag of Nepali is triangular. It has two triangles joining together. The upper triangle has the symbol of the moon and the lower triangle has the symbol of the sun. The meaning of the sun and the moon is that Nepal will exist in the world as long as the sun and moon remain in the universe. The surface colour of the national flag of Nepal is crimson and the border colour is blue. The crimson red colour represents Nepalese courage and the blue colour represents the peace-loving nature of the Nepalese. 

National Colour Crimson: Crimson is the  National colour of Nepal. In Nepali, it is called “Simrik”. It is considered very auspicious and has a significant place in Nepal's cultural life. People use crimson during Pooja and other special occasions.

National Animal Cow: The cow is our national animal. It gives us milk. It is worshipped as the incarnation of Goddess Laxmi, the god of wealth by Hindus. There is huge respect for cows in Nepal. So, the killing of a cow in Nepal is a type of crime. 

National Flower Rhododendron (Laliguras): Rhododendron is the national flower of our country Nepal. It is found in the high hills and the Himalayan regions of Nepal. It is red in color. There are more than 30 species of Rhododendron in Nepal.

National Bird Lophophorus (Danphe): Danphe is the national bird of our country Nepal. It is found in the Himalayan regions. It is very beautiful and colorful. It has nine colors. So, it is also called Naurangi Danphe.

National Anthem: The national anthem of Nepali is “Sayau Thunga Phulka Hami Eutai Mala Nepali.......”. The lyrics of the national anthem were composed by the poet Pradeep Kumar Rai, (Byakul Maila) and the music is composed by Amber Gurung.
