Today, the school was going to take us to the former residence of the Royal family, Narayanhiti Durbar. It was a part of our social studies topic. I went to school and met my friends. Then, we went to our class. The first period was Maths. In the second period, we were asked to be on the ground. The students of Grade 8 and 10 went there with us too. Mr. Nirmal, Ms. Indira, Mr. Ariun and Ms. Mazina went with us as well. We got on the bus and went to the palace. The tickets were given to us and we took a group photo. We went inside the palace gate. We had a security check. We got our tickets checked and entered the palace. The interior was magnificent. There were statues of different animals on the stairway to the palace. There was a carpet made of a bear that the king had killed. There were two dead tigers in the stair as a part of the decoration. There were many photos of the kings of Nepal. We saw the rooms that were separated for the guests of each district. There were separate rooms for a birthday celebration, Dashain celebration, and Janai Purnima. The heads of reindeer and buffalos were kept on the walls as decoration. There were photos of the king of Nepal meeting different guests. A dead crocodile was kept on the wall as a part of the decoration. We also saw the rooms of the king and the makeup room of the Queen as well. The medals that the kings had received was also kept there. My favorite part of the palace was the throne of the king. The room was beautiful. We also saw the crown (Sri-Pech) of the kings. I wondered if the jewels of the crown were real or not. Then, we went to the backside of the palace where the massacre happened. There were bullet marks along the walls and a pond where Prince King Dipendra was found injured and unconscious. There was a billiard room where the king and the queen were killed. We also roamed around the pond which was not well maintained. Then we went out of the palace and took a group photo. After that, we left for school. When we arrived at school, we were tired and dizzy because of the sun. Then, we studied in the rest of other periods and went home.
