Nepal’s Education System

Education is a vital aspect of any country, as it shapes its future by providing skilled human resources. However, the education system in Nepal is old-fashioned. It puts immense pressure on students, causing them to fear education and prioritize studying excessively. As a consequence, they withdraw from socializing, playing, and any outdoor activities. This pressure goes beyond school to their homes.

In many cases, students are compared to others, leading to a loss of motivation. Despite acknowledging individual differences, teachers often fail to understand and accommodate them. Instead, they resort to ego-filling techniques, wherein students are encouraged to prove others wrong, resulting in fake academic success.

Moreover, the volume of study material in the textbooks is excessive, which is more than what is necessary for students. A tenth-grader in the USA may have a less rigorous curriculum but possesses higher-quality education and problem-solving skills. This leads to a more practical education system that produces more successful individuals.

In order to ensure a brighter future for Nepal, the education system must undergo significant reforms. It should focus on imparting knowledge suitable for a child's developmental stage, rather than overwhelming them with unnecessary information. Encouraging outdoor activities and fostering friendships should be prioritized over academic competition. Instead of pressuring students, they should be nurtured with encouragement and support, ultimately yielding better results.

In conclusion, the education system in Nepal requires many changes and improvements to meet the evolving needs of society.
