Simply put, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a human made technology that tries to replicate human activities through machine learning. We all can see that nowadays the demand of AI is growing in the market. AI also has different stages which could be explained as:

I. Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI):

With advancement, artificial intelligence grew increasingly specialized, performing well in certain domains but falling short of human intelligence's adaptability and capacity for generalization. Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI) is a stage that describes AI systems created for certain uses, such as image recognition software, virtual personal assistants, and recommendation engines. While ANI has shown to be remarkably proficient within its designated area, it is unable to do activities that are beyond the boundaries of its programming.

II. Artificial General Intelligence (AGI):

Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) represents a theoretical concept where AGI's next step is doing research on AI. AGI seeks to develop robots like human capacities, allowing them to comprehend, acquire, and apply information across several disciplines. Achieving AGI remains a difficult task because it needs robots to display a wide range of intelligence equal to human cognitive processes.

III. Artificial Superintelligence (ASI):

The ultimate stage in the evolution of AI is Artificial Superintelligence (ASI), where machines surpass human intelligence across all domains. ASI represents a hypothetical concept that raises ethical and existential questions about the control and impact of highly autonomous systems. The prospect of ASI has spurred discussions about responsible development and governance to ensure that AI systems align with human values and priorities.

Challenges

Due to the high use and demand of AI in this modern world the stages of AI highlight remarkable progress, they also pose challenges and considerations. Due to the high use of AI people are also facing many problems such as fake data privacy, and the potential impact on unemployment. As AI continues to advance, addressing these challenges it might even harm human race which is a possibility because in the current scenario AI cannot feel feelings such as happy, sad, angry like humans.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the stages of AI reflect a fascinating journey from Artificial Narrow Intelligence to the pursuit of Artificial General Intelligence. Each stage has brought about transformative advancements. It is also said that to make ASI, AGI should be improved thousand times because AI can’t process the emotions and feelings like we humans can feel. Developers are always experimenting with new technologies to expand the capabilities of artificial intelligence. In my opinion, looking at the future AI might even harm the human race so while developing AI’s there should be some certain commitment to moral and ethical rules.
