Flora was a girl. She really liked comic books but her mother forbade her from reading them for the summer because she wanted Flora to read literature instead. However, Flora kept on reading them in her room or in the attic . She heard a loud sound from the garden and it was her neighbour trying out her new vacuum in the garden. It looked like she had almost lost her mind, she almost vacuumed the squirrel. Luckily Flora saved the squirrel right in time. Flora went to her room without her mother noticing a squirrel in her hand. Her mother was a writer, big fan of literature.
Later, Flora and her mother were asleep. The squirrel went to her mother’s typewriter and wrote a poem. Flora already thought that the squirrel or “Ulysess” could understand her. But her mother did not believe her that the squirrel wrote the poem. Later she met her neighbor’s relative who was her age. He was temporarily blind. Flora showed him the squirrel writing a poem, But he was not impressed. Later when flora’s father came to pick her up, the boy apologized to her. Her father and her mother were divorced. Flora and her father went to a restaurant. And a waitress who was very noisy opened a box where Ulysses was hiding. Then a disaster happened which lead Ulysses to have an injury.
They went to Flora’s father’s apartment where Flora decided to stay instead of staying with her mother. Ulysses got better. But one-night flora woke up and did not find Ulysses. But she did find a goodbye note. She knew it was something to do with her mother; she went to find Ulysses with Tootie and the boy she met earlier. Saved Ulysses by trading Marn ann. An item that her mother loved dearly. Her mother also apologized and said she just wanted the best for her. And that is how the story of Flora and Ulysses ends.
