On 8 July, we, the students of grade 10, were taken to the Police Department Canine Division located at Maharajgunj. We left school at 9:30 am and reached there in 15 to 20 minutes.

So, when we reached there we looked around and there was a huge ground to roam, run and train the dog. We were taken to a training area for dogs and there was a place where we could sit and watch. So, we sat and we were introduced to a senior officer. He told us about the history and the origin of the Police Department Canine Division and we were then introduced to four types of dogs and their roles in helping with the investigation. We were introduced to two German Shepherd and Bloodhound and some others. There were generally four sectors: Explosive, Narcotic, Investigation and Criminal activities. We were shown some demonstration on the four divisions so we had an idea of each division and what its role was.

After that, we were taken where the dogs and horses were kept. So, we went around and saw all the animals with their names and then we got on the bus and came back to school.
