Nepal Scouts

The Scouts Organization was started by an Englishman, Baden Powell in 1907. Nepal Scouts was established in 1953 AD. Its headquarters is in Lainchaur, Kathmandu. Its branches are spread all over the country. Nepal became a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1969. Nepal Scouts focuses on handicrafts, hiking, camping, nature conservation and community development. Service activities include adult literacy campaigns, food production, child vaccination and drug abuse education. Relief operations are: mobilized earthquakes, floods, landslides, fires and other natural disasters. The membership badge of the Nepal scouts incorporates the element of the flag of Nepal. Scouts have 3 sections: Cubs, Scouts and Rovers. Cubs have the motto of,”Do your best”, Scouts have the motto,”Be prepared” and Rovers have the motto of,”Service”.
