In the parent talk program, we learned many things. We learned how to brush teeth. We should brush our teeth twice a day. We learned that gel toothpaste is harmful to us. We should use paste toothpaste. We should use white color toothpaste. We also asked questions to the guest speaker. She also checked out teeth.
Tihar is our second great festival. It is celebrated for five days. The first day is called Kaag Tihar, the second day Kukur Tihar, the third day Gai Tihar, the fourth day Govardan puja and the fifth day Bhai Tika. Bhai Tika is the most important day among the other. In Tihar I did a lot of things. I helped to decorate my house with lights. I enjoyed seeing sparkling lights everywhere. I put on saptarangi Tika from my sister on the day of Bhai Tika.
Today we learned various things about how to take care of our teeth. We should brush our teeth twice a day. In one day, we should brush two times. If we do not brush our teeth, germs grow in our teeth. We should go to a dentist every six months. If we don’t go to dentists and do not care our teeth, cavities are formed in teeth.
In my Dashain holidays, I went to Dharan. In Dharan, my family and I went to different temples like Budha Subba, Pirdeswori, and Dantakali. And then I went to my grandparents’ house. After sleeping for a night, they put Tika on me. I slept earlier that night. Next day, I had Tika again and went to new places like Vedetar, Koshi, bridges, Dhankuta, Hile, Jhapa, etc. I cannot remember all the names of the places. We went to Jogmani for shopping. I bought several things there. I returned to Kathmandu last Tuesday.
In Dashain, I flew a kite. I ate meat. I bought new clothes. I played chess. I played swing. I played table tennis. I played football. I played with my friends and my cousins. My parents put Tika on my forehead. They put Jamara on my hair. I also put Tika to my sister. I went to my uncle’s house. I went to my relatives’ houses.
It is the Dashain festival. We put Tika on the foreheads. We flew kites on the sky. We cooked goat meat. We met a lot of relatives. There were Mom, Dad, Grandmother, Grandfather, uncles, aunts, and cousins. We grew Jamara on our clay bowls. We went to a lot of temples. We worshiped our cars. We wore new clothes.
Dashain is the greatest festival of Nepal. During Dashain, I visited a lot of temples like Pashupatinath, Guheswari, Maitidevi, Naxal Bhagawati, Chabahil Ganeshsthan etc. I played cards, swings, and kites. I ate meat, Chiura, sweets, curds, cold drinks, cucumber pickle, etc. I bought and wore a new dress and shoes. I looked beautiful in my new dress. It was one piece colorful gown. On the tenth day of Dashain, I got Tika on my forehead and Jamara on my hair from my grandfather, my grandmother, father and mother. We got blessed. I went to my relatives' houses. I got 6,000 rupees as gifts. Overall, I enjoyed this Dashain a lot.
I saw teachers decorating our school with balloon and flowers. We studied in the first period. And we went to practice singing. After lunch, we prepared our performance in school. We changed our clothes. We ate a sandwich and milk. Finally, we started the program at 4:00 pm. At first, the dance club performed a cultural dance. After several performances, our turn came. The song title was “Chatta Rumal”. After we finished our dance, Grade 1A students came out to sing. The song title was “ You are my sunshine.” Some of our friends did yog. After the yog, drama students came out on the stage. After many performances, our program ended. We took balloons from school and went home with our parents. I was very happy that day. It was so interesting and fun.
We celebrated Deerwalk Sifal Night on Friday, October 5th. It was two and a half hours program. I went to school wearing my best dress for the program. I participated in dance, yoga, music and fashion show. My friends also participated in various programs. My favorite ones are yoga and dance. My parents came to watch the program and they were very happy to watch me perform. After the program ended, I came home with my parents.
Nepali women celebrate Teej festival. All the women wear a red dress. My mom also wore a red dress. It is the biggest festival for Nepali women. My mom took a holy bath in the river. She danced and sang with me and our anties. She also fasted on Teej the whole day. She prayed for my dad for a long and healthy life. After the Teej fasting was over, my mum and aunties ate delicious food. I enjoyed the festival very much.
Today is Thursday. It is Teej. I wore my Teej dress at home. My mom also wore a Teej dress. It was beautiful. My mom went to a temple. My mom danced and sang until night. After singing and dancing, she came home. She had a good time in the temple.
There was a school event. It is about Children’s Day. A lot of teachers were on the stage. There were singing, dancing, and drama. My favorite one is drama. It was so funny. I like the school’s event. My class teacher, Miss Hangkeng danced with other teachers. She danced well. It was a good and fun day.
