The DWIT Hiking Club organized a two-day hiking trip to Sailung, Dolakha, on 30–31 May 2026, providing students with an opportunity to explore nature, strengthen teamwork, and take a refreshing break from their academic routine.
On 30 May, participants departed from the Deerwalk Complex at 7:30 AM and stopped at Simle for lunch before continuing to Sailung. The group arrived at Newa Chulo Restaurant, Sailung, at around 2:30 PM and began their hike at 3:00 PM toward Sailung 100 Hills and the viewpoint. Students enjoyed the scenic landscapes, captured photographs and videos, and supported one another throughout the hike. After returning to the accommodation at around 6:00 PM, participants had dinner and spent the evening playing games, sharing experiences, and relaxing.
On 31 May, the day began with breakfast at 7:00 AM, followed by a hike at 8:30 AM to Mahadevsthan Temple and Cave. Participants explored the religious and cultural site before concluding the hike at around 10:30 AM. The group departed Sailung at 11:10 AM, stopping at Simle for lunch before continuing to Kathmandu. The participants arrived at the Deerwalk Institute of Technology (DWIT) at approximately 5:00 PM, marking the successful conclusion of the trip.
Overall, the Sailung hiking trip was a memorable and enriching experience that allowed students to connect with nature, strengthen friendships, and develop teamwork and endurance through outdoor activities.
