The DWIT Hiking Club organized a two-day hiking trip to Sailung, Dolakha on 30–31 May 2026 with the aim of providing students an opportunity to explore nature, strengthen teamwork, and take a refreshing break from their academic routine. Participants departed from the Deerwalk Complex on the morning of 30 May and reached Sailung in the afternoon after a lunch stop at Simle. Following a short rest, the group hiked to Sailung 100 Hills and a nearby viewpoint, where they enjoyed breathtaking landscapes, panoramic Himalayan views, and quality time with friends. The day concluded with dinner and recreational activities, creating a memorable experience for everyone.
On 31 May, participants enjoyed breakfast before setting out on a hike to Mahadevsthan Temple and Cave, one of the region’s significant cultural and religious sites. After exploring the area and appreciating its peaceful surroundings, the group began their return journey to Kathmandu, stopping at Simle for lunch along the way. The trip concluded with the group arriving back at DWIT in the evening. Overall, the hiking program successfully achieved its objectives by allowing students to experience the natural beauty of Sailung, strengthen friendships, and develop teamwork and endurance through outdoor activities.
